Leadership Through Time:

  1. Watch video and take notes:MAKE A DECISION
  2. Many leaders have had to make extreme decisions during crisis. How do you think these decisions might have changed if leaders could make them in non-crisis situations?  Give an example. [1-2 Paragraphs]
  3. ** Consider the different decisions leaders have had to make regarding war, epidemics, impeachments and natural disasters. In an emergency, leaders may make one decisions; given more time to explore options, their decisions may differ.  Does crisis improve or detract from the decisions leaders make? [3-5 sentences]

    1. You have to have effort
    2. Make a decision to make a difference
    3. Take control of your life
    4. Have determination
    5. Don't let anything hold you back
    6. Don't let failing stop you
    7. You are going to lose friends and go through a lot when trying to be successful

question 2) so many leaders had had made countless decisions during crisis.Like when Obama had to make decisions to send troops to kill osama bin laden. That was a very important decision which ended up being successful. If our leader made decisions when theirs not a crisis they will probably be more careless. Because millions of lives are not a stake so they wouldn't be so stressful about it .In my opinion any whether crisis or not decisions should be thought about carefully.

Question 3)I think leaders make better decisions if their's a crisis. My reason is that possibly people's lives are in danger or a bomb threat so they have to think about carefully. But also quickly so theirs a lot of tension & thinking put into it. If theirs not a crisis though there going to take thing a little slower and not be to stressed about it . So basically they would be more "Laid back" about make the decision.

    2. There were only two leaders I've had. When I was going through something. I watch them everyday on YouTube. They are youtubers, Romanatwood and Doseoffouesy. Some people might not seem them as leaders but I do and also there subscribers. They are two inspiring people who like to bring positivting to there audience. They try to make there audience happy and tell them inporisng stuff that would make there days better, when there feeling down. When I was going through family problems. I would watch there videos and they would just make me smile and laugh. They really help me out when I need it.
    3. It detracts leaders decisions that they have to make. Having a problem in your life would just make you have so many decisions. You'll get caught up with them and not know what to do. You would be worried to make a decision because you'd be afraid of what other people would think about you. Don't be afraid to act cuz you want someone else's approval, you have to do do you. Be yourself and don't have lack of self confidence.

*We don't really care about our decisions
*We decided not to decide which is a decision
*There are experiments that prevent us from working through the mental block of acting
*To begin to reinvent our life I have to make conscious decisions
*We just have to make good decisions
*if you want to make a difference the make a decision
*The thing that prevent us from acting is the fear of failure
*Sometimes when we want to do something, we feel that we might lose somebody
*We don't act because we want other people's approval
*We don't believe enough in ourselves because we people don't accept us.

2._Many leaders have make decisions because they have to, everyone is following them and if they fail everyone fails. Learners when they are in crisis think about what problems are going to happen if they don't make the right decisions, They think about others and if the leader wants to make a good difference he or she has to make a difference that everyone should accept and is good for everyone.

If the leaders did something wrong or the choose not to act properly then he needs to make a decision that prevents people from acting of failure, sometimes leaders just want to hear or see that people will say something if they did something wrong, but the real thing is that they have to fix the problem no matter what if to do so, making a good decision is a good way to begin fixing that problem.

3._Sometimes the decisions that leaders make for the people are good because they have time to think about the consequences and the good things about it. When they have to make a decision during a hard crisis they don't really have enough time to think about and they have to choose something good to benefit people and not just them.

  4. 2.) I think many leaders had to make extreme decisions during crisis. Presidents have made big decisions during wars or when facing problems with another country. An example of a big decision that was made would be when Franklin D. Roosevelt had all Japanese immigrants and national-born put in internment camps. He had placed all these people in internment camps during World War II, because he was afraid their loyalties lied more with Japan than the U.S

Another example of when a president made an extreme decision during crisis would be the Embargo Act of 1807. The Embargo Act, a law declared by president Thomas Jefferson, was passed during the war between Britain and France. This was was effecting American trade, so this act allowed America to stop trade with foreign nations. This act had effected New England, considering they had a trade-based economy. A consequence of this act was that it effected agricultural prices and shipping-related companies/industries where devastated.

3.) I think that crisis will detract from the decisions that leaders make. I think this for a few reasons. Multiple times in U.S history did a president pass a law during a time of peril. Usually, the fact that there's a war will convince a leader that the problem must be solved in the most effective way possible. Sometimes, it isn't the best way to solve the problem. They feel the need to solve the problem immediately, but consequences may come after if they're not careful enough.

  5. 2. I think these decisions could have changed if leaders could make them in non-crisis situations by showing people that it's not always easy to make a decision and telling them that there will be necessary losses in life. They should also help people making and inspiring them to make the right choices, or they'll end up unsuccessful or do wrong things in their lives.

For example, if someone were to make the wrong decisions, leaders should be able to help or tell them what they're doing or else they will continue that wrong path. I think that it's important for people to make right choices , many people won't like you or accept you and that's okay , it's not possible for everyone to like each other.

    3. Crisis detracts from the decisions leaders make because crisis will lead them to struggling and possibly make them do those things that they see. I think crisis is a major problem in the world and it should be stopped, life will move on you and make you act. You have to act on yourself and say you will make the right decisions. And I also think that it's also important to give more than one decision depending on what the person chooses to do.

  6. 1) Watched.

    2) I believe leaders would still make decisions on non-crisis situations just to not have any crisis later on. For example a president, to not let any extreme crisis happen in the future they would most likely make decisions or have a plan so if something does happens they would know what to do. Decisions might change because they would be not that demanding for example when people say "STOP VIOLENCE" it would most likely not stop since people are demanding it would probably get worst. If leaders make decisions when there is non-crisis problems for example make a plan just in case something does happen in the future and you would know what to do and if that doesn't work then you should make a plan B soon. This is what would change if leaders make decisions on a non-crisis situation.

    3) Sometimes yes sometimes no and maybe a maybe because depends on what the cause is if for example who every wins to become president let's say Trump wins there is going to be a huge war. Depends on the situation that's would affect if it's going to approve or not. Some decisions are extreme and would maybe not go so well. It's either going to change or not but it only depends on the situation.

    ReplyDelete
  7. 1) Yes,many leaders do have to make decisions in extreme crisis. I think that if they make decisions in a non-crisis situation it would be easier. The reason why I think this is because if it's a hard decision and you can still make it then if you have an easy desicion you will be able to decide easier. For example on the movie "Frozen" Anna had to make a decision to either stay at her house or go look for her sister. She went to look for her sister because her sister did something bad. She made a decision to go solve the crisis. If this wasn't a bad crisis her decision would of probably been harder. If there was no crisis she would of probably stayed home.
    2) Crisis improves depending on the person. If the person decides to solve the crisis then it will improve but if they don't it probably won't improve. If you make good decisions the crisis will most likely turn into a non-crisis. The crisis detract detract based on the decision the leaders make.

    ReplyDelete
  8. 1.) I think that they mite change because, they either make a horrible decision or good one and which ever one the leader does it mite end up hurting someone or making there life better. The reason that they make extreme decision is because they try to make everything better or they try to fix the crisis thats been going on. They are on a lot of persure because a lot of people count on the leader and they think that if they make a decision, they think that it will probably effect a lot of peopleand some decisions have major decisions, for some reason or another you just have not been able to gather your thoughts.

2.) The crisis mite improve or it may not because it depends on the leader to make a good decision and for some leaders, its challenging to act on what you want to do in order to make a good, delibrate, determind decision. If the leaders want to make a difference in the world or in what they are leaders in, all they have to make a decision, but some leaders want to make a good decision but they either think that it mite have a big effect on peoples life or they just don't know why they haven't done it. Which cause a lot of crisis in society and they are scared of failing or disapointing people.

2.i think these decisions might have not changed because leaders should be great in a crisis situation and even better in a non crisis situation. Leaders are there to help and inspire people to be like them and make right decisions and make them knowing that they made a right one even if it's wrong. If a leader made a decision in a non crisis situation it would be better because they wouldn't have to worry about all the craziness that's going on. And they could have time to make a planed decision without all the stress. And worrying if they made a good one because if they were in a crisis they would be worrying. They should be willing to help and do anything for their people or whoever the are being a leader to. Because a leader would do anything to help a person or to do what's right. And do what they can to make it better and make it for everybody to be happy. But if your in a crisis you can't look over all your options because you don't have time you have to make a quick and an noninformed decision. But if your in a noncrisis situation you don't have to worry about it you just can make a good decision without wondering if you made the right one.

    3. I think that crisis detract from decisions leaders make because if you are in a crisis and you just have to make a decision that's gonna help everybody and do what's best for people and do what you think is gonna make things better. And sometimes you can't do what's best for people or what helps you have to make a decision. That is gonna help but not help everybody. Because if you are in a crisis your not gonna have a long time to make a decision your not gonna have time to go over everything and make a well planed out decision you have to make a quick one. And that's not very good decision making because if you make a decision on something important you should have some time to make your final decision and that does not improve it in my opinion it just makes it kinda worse.

    2. I think the decision would be differnt in a non-crisis situation. In a non-crisis situation people aren't pressured to do something and have more time to think. They don't have things to think upon to push them towards a decision. If a leader had to make a decision with a crisis, they have things to think upon adn have little time to think more quickly. When there is a non-crisis situation the leader is more calm about the decision it makes, the person doesn't really have to hurried because there is no crisis going on.

Suppose there is a war going on, the leader has to think quicklybecause there could be consquences. The person is mor epressured and can't really think straight on what he has to do because there are lives being lost. If there wasn't as war and the leader has to think if they should attack someone, it would be more simple. It can't really come up with a reason to act because there isn't no crisis. It has to think on what to do. Most likely they would make the one that doesn't affect others since they have no reason to.

    3. In my opinion, crisis detract from the decisions leaders make. They have to make a decision quickly because if they don't there could be more damage. When a crisis happens the leader is more pressured more because the followers are waiting on the person they act on it. The person can't think straight because it's thinking about the crisis more than the decision. If they don't make one soon, the blame will be on them because they didn't have time to think.

  11. 1. Make a decision
*If you already failed, you don't want to fail again
*Among things that prevent us is the fear of failure
*if you don't have the courage to fight, life in times is going to move on you
*If you want to make a decision make a difference
*once you make a decision the universe conspires to make it happen
*The fear of lost is another thing
*if you want to make a difference all you have to do is make a decision

    2. These things can change if leaders can encourage them to succeed and do well on everything they have to do . Leaders are supposed to show them respect and also be strict to not let them loose focus on them at all . Leaders are supposed to be therefor them and always tell them what is right or wrong. Leaders is supposed to show them consequences for their actions. If they don't do that then they will loose focus and will not succeed.

    3. Sometimes you have to do what u have to do. But leaders always have to do there best to make other people succeed . Regarding wars and natural disasters leaders are always supposed to do their best to make a difference . For exmaple , If trump does go for president , There is going to be war , and he has to be prepared for that in order to succeed , because if he doesn't he will fail as our leader .

    2. I think a leaders decisions might not change if the leader could make them in non-crisis situations. I think this because if a leader is a leader, that person would do anything even if it's dangerous or not. If they did something that was involved with a crisis, they do it. If their not involved with a crisis, I'm sure they would do the same. A leader might also want to do it because they want to inspire. Leaders would do anything, and be nice enough to help in any situation. They would be willing to help people in any situation, no matter if it's a crisis or not. If they make extreme decisions during a actual crisis, they have to be willing to help during a non-crisis.

    3. The different decisions leaders make are extreme. If they want to do something, they have to make up their mind quick. For example, in natural disasters and in war, people had to make up their mind and see what was best for them. If it was just easy to give up, or keep fighting. I think crisis detracts a person's decisions because most people don't make good decisions during a crisis. You don't have time to go think and fully go over your plan. You can't think if your plan will really work out or if it's gonna be a fail. I think people making decisions during a crisis makes everything worse, because the person isn't thinking straight.

    ReplyDelete
  13. 1.) leaders make dicisions non-crisis situations by thinking about what is really happening. For example Erick Thomas is an example of someone who thinks about preventing crisis. Erick Thomas say people need to push each other to make sure they won't have an crisis. Erick Thomas had a lot of crisis situations when he was homeless but now he doesn't because he pushed him self. Leaders make sure they don't get to any bad situation to be non-crisis.
2.) crisis does improve decisions for leaders because it helps them think more. When leaders are in crisis they have to leader a good decision the hard way. Erick Thomas is one of them who had a big crisis.

  14. 1) Notes from video

    2) Some decision will be dumb if it were in a non-crisis situation like going to war. If the president wantwed to go to war without a cause it would be dumb, but if there was a terrist attack then it would be a reasonable reason to go to war the country the terrist came from. It will aslo be a good thing to make a decision in a non-crisis situation like something to do with science like investing money on a big science experiment that could possibly cure cancer than yeah it would be a good decision. It will always be either good or a bad decision either in a crisis or non-crisis stuation. Also if the person who's making the decision has time to think about making the decision then they should actually think it through before telling the state or country what his decion is gonna be.

    3) Crisis improves the decision more than if the decision had taken place with no crisis. Sometimes the decision goes more wrong than right, but that rarely happens. Crisis sometimes detract the decision and the person making the decision feels pressured and does the wrong decision.

  15. Notes on " make a decision"
    -make a decision
    - its a major major challenge
    - some reason or another you just haven't done it
    - you really want to do this and you wonder why you haven't done it.
    - you got to make a conscious determined effort.
    - but you really got to out all of yourself onto it
    - its very challenging to act to do those things.
-I know I need to do this but I don't feel that.
    - If you want to make a difference all you got to do is make a decision
    - and if you've already failed you don't want to fail again.

    2. Many leaders have to make extreme decisions during crisis but if they made decisions during a non-crisis situation I think that the decisions would be less extreme. For example if the leader had to come up with a very important decision for a crisis I think it would be more effective than when a leader has to make a decision in a non-crisis situation. Therefore when a leader makes a decision in crisis that is important I think in my opinion its more effective.

If there was a non-crisis time where a leader had to make a decision for I think it would be effective but the crisis wouldn't have been as important. If the crisis was very important then it would improve instead of detract. Overall there are some crisis where decisions improve the situation.

    3. In my opinion I think that sometimes the crisis does improve from the decisions leaders, but I think sometimes it does not improve. For example when the decisions are effective in natural disasters or regarding to war then the crisis does improve. In conclusion there are many decisions where it can improve a lot of things.

  16. 1. Notes on video:
    -Small decisions are major decisions
    -You need to decide
    -Make the right decisions
    -You don't want to fail
    - The pain, disappointment of failing
-Many of us don't do what we want to do because of lack of self confidence
    - Be able to work through
-Many of us want other peoples approval
    - You have control, only you
    - Make a decisions

    2. If leaders were to make extreme decisions in non- crises their decisions could have changed because they would not not have to make a decision right when they are being pressured. They would have more time to think about making the correct decisions instead of making the wrong one. The leaders would have thought about the decisions like if it will benefit them or if it will just be useless. For example if someone had to make a decision for their future , but did not know more information about it they could have made a decision that was not meant for them but took it just because they had to make the decisions right in the moment.

Making a decision in crisis can not be a good decision that can help them or benefit them instead it can make it worse. If leaders were to make a decision on non- crisis they will make a good decisions that will benefit them whether it's to help a persons life or help the community. If they made a decisions that they were not pressured to make it right away the leaders would make an effective decision.

    3. I believe making a important decisions in crisis will detract the leaders decisions. It will make them feel pressured and will have to give a response that they have not even thought about. They will not think about the pros or cons of that decision that has to be made. The decision that was made by the leader can not even be useful. Making the a decision in crisis dose not allow the leader to think about the different options or ways that will help like if they need to make a decision in ways to help the environment or the community and much more.

  17. 1. Video - Notes
    2. Many leaders should be given time in advanced to make better decisions. With time they are able to look at the outcome of every choice they have. Choices can be done with no time, but right decisions are made with time. The clock it ticking, but if we know in advanced then I think it'll be done in the right manner. Many of us panic and choose the wrong thing to proceed with but it's all about time.

Time gives a high chance of doing the right thing.
Going back and being able to look at the outcome of what will happen if you make this or that decision. No crisis happening should be better for us to make a choice in what we truly want to do. For our future, home, family , and etc. comes decisions being made everyday. Leaders should always think ahead and give the reason to why they would choose this if that happened. An example can be knowing if you live an area where storms happen very often and maybe when a big one comes you child be prepared to know what decisions you'll make for when it happens.

    3. It detracts the decisions being made. Only because if you only can choose one plan then you can't go back if it fails. You need to be given time in order to make any decision.

  18. 1. Notes

-Some are major, some are small
-Decisions drain our energy and create anxiety
-We decide not to decide and that's a decision
-You know what you want to do, but you don't decide to
-In order to change your life you have to make a conscious, deliberate, and determined effort
-If you want to make a difference, make an effort
-The thing that prevents making decisions is fear of failure
-We want everyone to love us, and that's not possible
-We have lack of self confidence, we don't believe in ourselves
-When you know what you are doing is right, it gives you a special power and meaning

    2. Many leaders had to make very hard decisions. The President is a great example of making hard decisions. For example, Harry S. Truman. He had to make the very decision that made a pilot drop the nuclear bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After that, Japan stopped attacking the US. It was either his country or their country. That bomb killed millions of people, for the sake of the US protection.

We might not have ended the war if we didn't stop Japan first. However, after the nuclear bomb, Japan was beyond repair. Not only were houses and land completely obliterated, but radiation turned into a crisis. Radiation affected so many people and probably still lingers. It includes birth defect and people's limbs. Those people most likely had nothing to do with the war. Some might not have even sided with their countries decisions. Harry Truman made a decision, and the people affected from the radiation was the effect.

    3. History can stop people from making decisions. Other people's stories can help other people not make decisions. Suggestions and personal experiences can also help others change their mind. Crisis can definitely detract people from making decisions. You just have to look into past failures and crises'.

    2. I think that the decisions that leaders have to make are very complicated but some can change there minds, they can make a right decision that might change it for the better or the worse. But I guess that if they did not put themselves in a non-crisis problem then it would be a different problem.

    3. I think that it may be both that does it to the leaders that can probably improve the crisis by the leadership that they do to help there people so they wouldn't let them down or be a failure.

    * Some desisions are magior

    * Make a desision

    * If you want to make a diffrence make a desision

    * You have to give effort

    * You need to want it to earn it

    2. I think that even if a leader made an extreme desision in a crisis or not i wouldent make a difference. For example nobody has to die for a leader to make a desision. In other words even if a leader makes an extreme desision when there is no crisis going on people are still going to agree and follow the desision. If a leader made a desison in a crisi i wouldnt matter because it matter what the desison is.for example if a leader made a desison on giving free health care to children who are under six years old it wouldnt matter if he did it when ther was a crisis it wouldnt matter if he would have done it earlier.

    3. No it doesnt improve the great or bad a desison is made if not done before or at the time. The only thing that would matter is iff it is a good desison. If its not a good Desision it wouldent matter because if it dosent help the crisis why would the desision be made.

  21. 1.In My opinion many people did make extreme decisions when there was a crisis in there hands. These decisions may have been different if the Leader didn't make it A Giant Crisis or A bigger problem. Many people have made small problems into giant problems or a big crisis that they have to, now handle. Many people over exaggerate over a small problem way to much. They would make it look like a crime or even a world problem.
In my opinion I would give an example of Donald Trump. I would do this because he exaggerates too much over the fact of immigrants coming to America. First of all he makes it to much like a Crime or A giant problem. To him they just don't matter,he just leaves them their by themselves and does nothing.Like the video says People create a lot of anxiety and nervousness.

3.In my opinion, I think that when leaders are dealing with an emergency or a crisis they have to act fast. Many leaders consider war, Natural Disasters,And epidemics. But I feel like if they were given more time to explore the decisions, Their response might differ from the decisions that they had to make one the spotlight. In my opinion I think that crisis detract decisions that leaders make because when there is a crisis or an emergency happening they can't explore all the decisions they have.So instead they choose something that is in there face, without out seeing the other options there are.

    ReplyDelete
  22. 2. If leaders had made important decision while not in crisis they would have better thought out what they were doing. They would have had thought of people or other things that might have been affected by there decisions. Also they would have selected other people to give there opinion whether positive or negative. Also they might have passed a survey to see what other people thought.
An example of an important crisis would be when president Obama order the killing of Asama Bin laden. Since it was an important decision he had to think quick on killing him or not. If he had more time he could have made a better plan that would have resulted in not killing him and not losing a plan during the mission. If he did then he also could have approached the mission with different tactics during the mission. Or could have sent different people to do it. Or even just had made the mission to capture and leave so that way Asama would have been punished for all the wrong he had done over the years.

    3. Crisis detracts from leaders decisions because with only certain time limit they can only make plans during that time period. And sometimes there plans lack of knowledge because there is not enough info on what there doing. Or what they decide to do affects some people not knowing because he or she wasn't really informed. Also it affects in the sense that there decisions not only might affect a certain group. But also might affect that group for a certain number of time because he made the decision quickly not knowing who it would affect.

  23. 1.they make crazy decision but they can change a lot who know i sure don't. Every decision cost somthing from the person who made that decision it can cost a life a marriage a child a family member who knows. People say this or that about there life syle but that has nothing to do with what they have to say about there decision. Your decision can changer everyone or everything. Life if you dont do your work in school you change you grade.

    2. it improves more in a crisis because they explore more of there options then just pick and guess. But in a non- crisis people try to act silly and cool in fron of other but can come back to them and hurt them. But it improves them a lot because they can save some body or a family or a buildin or a city state or a world who knows you decision can change everything even when you dont know it.

  25. 1) Make a decision notes:
    * There are a lot of small decisions that we don't make
    * Even small decisions would cause a lot of anxiety and nervousness
    * If you already fail then try harder
    * This is your life you make the decisions

    2) Many leaders had to make extreme decisions. How I think these decisions might of changed if leaders could make them in non-crisis situations is those decisions wouldn't be that important. Since many of these leaders always have to make extreme ones, if these were in non-crisis situations, it won't be that important.

    3) In an emergency like this where leaders only have one decisions, it makes it even harder for them. Since they are in situations like this it will only get harder because these situations that they are in are something important. Crisis will NOT improve the decisions that leaders make because they only had one decisions to make. It will not affect the decisions they make but it won't improve it either. Even though it does give more time since you only have one decision to make but it makes it harder since you want to make those other decisions.

Many leaders have had to make extreme decisions during crisis. How do you think these decisions might have changed if leaders could make them in non-crisis situations? Give an example. [1-2 Paragraphs] One example is that they need to be more smart about the situation and to have more control. If they want to make a difference the they got to make decision. In also in the situation you need to believe in yourself. An dont expect for everybody to like you and accept you because it not possible. I think there decison will be the same because if they can do something dangerous then they can do a non-crisis.
** Consider the different decisions leaders have had to make regarding war, epidemics, impeachments and natural disasters. [3-5 sentences] In the same time it like both because in certain time there need to be a crisis. If they also do a crisis then it bad you the public.
